Default The Black List

A few guildies and I decided to put together a resource which could be used by party leaders when trying to form a group for a particularly important occasion. In this light, I have set out to put together and maintain a list which will keep track of known griefers and whatnot. For all of the information, visit the website:

***URL edited: PM poster if you wish to know where the list lives***

Let me know how you feel about this, I'm not going to change anything in response to your opinions, but I would like to know what you think. Feel free to make submissions.

Works for me. I can point people who are just dying to name names to your list and they can get the relief they so desperately want. However, it is very close to violating our board policy of not naming names.

I hope you have a LOT of bandwidth and server space---it's gonna be a LOOOOOONG list!

So ahh, this blacklist function. Looking at it is kinda flawed. You have two people listed and one is because they wouldnt listen. Was that because they were from a non english speaking country, and the other is because some one couldnt get their way "once" while partied.

My definition of griefing is doing something over and over again. So were you dumb enough to group with this person over and over again to make sure that they were being griefors ?

Just a thought.

Question, will this thread be deleted soon for technically posting griefor details ?

Skylone, as NitriX pointed out, this is just the start, of course there are only two people. Also, your definintion of "griefors" obviously differs from that of some people. This list is designed to be a guide to prior disgressions of certain characters in the game, not a top 20 list of the worst "griefors" in the game, so some of the things the people on the list have done are not nearly as bad as some others, that's just the way things work. People may decide that the disgression a person is listed for is really not that bad, and decided to party with them anyway. The truth of it is, I'm just supplying information, what somebody reading it does with the information is totally up to them.

And, no, no search function, yet... I haven't had a need to instate one.

Add my character names to the list for the hell of it, Attuned Ai, Standard Ai, yay extra grind now, and Divine Ai

PS.
If people check every person in their party and make sure that they're not on the list, or if people memorize this list. You need... Help.

Just reading it, there are 'tools, spastics F___tards etc' running around in guildwars but it would be bad to have some one blacklisted because you (TheBlacklist) do not have access to the real logs and anyone can photoshops an image and supplies it to you.

I could sit here and photoshop a bunch of images for says Nitrix, Shinsei, Aniewiel and anyone else I want being griefors and supply them to you.

Then when said person tries to play and by some chance that group they are attempting to join have your blacklist open and you have them listed, the group will deny them, maybe go as far as telling everyone in the area that a blacklisted person is trying to get in a group and that everyone should stay away form them like the plague.

What you are attempting to create is a good thing, I do believe you can get some bad people listed, but unfortunately, a griefer can just sit here and do the same to legal law abiding people in GW and you can have them listed without the correct information. That is unless you are willing to sit down and ask every person before you blacklist them if they have been naughty or nice. But that seems like a lot of work.

This is just my personal opinion of you blacklist. It has a plus but it also has a negative. And anything that results in a negative should just be avoided.

Isn't this against the whole "not supposed to post player names in the forums" thing? You're not supposed to say "Yeah this guy was a dick *name*" and what not, so far as I know.

Even though this isn't directly putting it in the forums, it's still there in an indirect way...right?

I thought the rules of this forum were "no naming names", etc. And yet, a thread made for the soul purpose of advertising a site that does nothing but naming names is allowed? I thought advertising your stupid sites in forums was against the rules too. Seriously, in the name of hypocrisy, delete this thread.

Sorry to say, this is the most retarded idea I've seen on these forums.

These 'blacklisted' players are placed on the list by your objection? Having no personal experience with the person? And only a slight descripton from someone else?

I have an idea.

I will code a PHP ran black list that will allow players submit names and rank griefers based on how horrible they are. I'll also give it a search feature.

I might have it done by tommorow, we'll see.

Awesome. I'm going to go into Lions Arch, district 1, and screenshot the All channel like crazy. Then I'm going to report everyone who spams a trade message in All as the worst possible kind of griefer. Then I will proceed to finding out all your in game names, and doing the same. Then I'll go to presear ascalon and black list every newbie I see before he even has to join missions, and then every time I go to the tombs and hear "damn koreans", I'll blacklist them and everyone I see on the screen, with no evidence to back it up.

Posting screenshots of scammers is good. It hard, conclusive evidence. Making a site that blacklists people without any evidence whatsoever is a bad idea. And anyone advertising a bad idea should be shot, not only for the advertising, but also for thinking it's a good enough idea to advertise.

Hmm, I'll make it so you're required to submit an image too.
